Dr. Kaufman

Dr. Kaufman is a board certified surgeon with a focus in advanced laparoscopic surgery. His primary focus is on minimally invasive vein procedures, general surgery and and surgical oncology. Dr. Kaufman is an expert in performing advanced laparoscopic procedures and employs new, minimally invasive technologies and advanced surgical techniques in order to achieve maximum results. Dr. Kaufman prides himself on improving the quality of life of his patients and reducing their recovery time by employing minimally invasive techniques, as compared with traditional open surgery.

Dr. Kaufman performs a variety of vein treatments at Advanced Surgical Associates of Central Jersey. He performs in-house ultrasound diagnostic procedures to identify venous disease. Dr. Kaufman is an expert at treating varicose veins using endovenous laser ablation and radiofrequency closure, which ultimately diminishes or eliminates their appearance. He also offers treatment for small vein disease, such as spider veins and telangiectasias, through injection sclerotherapy.

Dr. Kaufman is an active member of the medical community, and currently serves on numerous hospital and medical association committees. He has received several awards in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the medical community.

Michael J. Menack

Dr. Menack is a board-certified, fellowship-trained surgeon practicing in the area of general and laparoscopic surgery. He focuses on minimally invasive surgery, particularly for patients with venous diseases. He also performs complex advanced laparoscopic and other minimally invasive surgical procedures. Dr. Menack is committed to treating his patients with the least invasive methods available, thereby reducing recovery time, minimizing pain and restoring patient’s quality of life.

Dr. Menack specializes in treating a variety of venous diseases including varicose veins. As the Director of the Central Jersey Wound and Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment Center at CentraState Medical Center, Dr. Menack also actively treats more complex venous wounds and ulcers. He uses ultrasound technology in the diagnosis  and treatment of venous disease, and he is an expert in both endovenous laser ablation, and radio frequency closure techniques for the treatment of venous insufficiency. Injection sclerotherapy is available for patients looking to treat small vein disease, such as spider veins. Dr. Menack also specializes in the non-surgical and less invasive treatment of hemorrhoids. The approach allows for faster recovery time and is nearly pain-free when compared to traditional procedures.

Dr. Menack is active in the medical community as a member of several medical associations and as an instructor in ultrasound for the American College of Surgeons, He has also authored several peer-reviewed articles and serves on the editorial board of the journal Surgical Laparoscopy, Endoscopy and Percutaneous Techniques.
